Filters - Size S
The CREATIVE system features various types of creative and technical filters. You can combine several filters to compose your effect. Some filters will save you precious post-processing time and let you add up as many effects as you like.
NEUTRAL DENSITY
Whether they are solid (ND) or graduated (GND), neutral density filters reduce the amount of light that reaches the sensor, on the whole image or partially depending on the filter. They emphasize the flow of movement, reduce the depth of field, and avoid overexposure. They are also useful in video to maintain constant shutter speed and optimize bokeh capabilities with bright lenses.
POLARIZERS
The circular and linear polarizing filters optimize color saturation, enhance contrast and give the sky a typical dark blue hue. They also remove non-metallic surface reflections. It is impossible to reproduce a polarizing effect with image processing software.
BLACK & WHITE
Some colored filters are still widely used by photographers working in Black & White. In both film and digital, they have a strong effect on tone, saturation and contrast, depending on how you capture black & white images. This category also includes infrared filter and its unique possibilities.
GRADUATED
Conversion filters help rectify strong color temperature variations. Lighter density versions of these blue or orange filters apply subtile color temperature corrections that reduce or eliminate dominant tones.
COLORS
When the sky is not as blue as you wish, when the sunset is not vibrant enough or if you would like to add a personal color touch, the graduated colors are the ideal choice. They darken a part of the image (generally the top part) by adding a color: blue, tobacco, emerald, sunset, etc.
COLOR CORRECTIONS
Color correction filters compensate dominant monochromatic colors. Working on the principle of subtractive syntheses of colors, these filters – each available in 6 different intensities that can be combined as necessary – allow for correction of any chromatic discrepancy.
CENTER-SPOTS
Center Spot filters enhance the subject while isolating it within a lightly blurred border. The central zone of sharpness can be small and round, or much larger and of oval shape. They are used most typically in wedding photography or still life.
DIFFUSERS
With these filters you enter right into a romantic atmosphere. They add a soft, unique touch to portraits; hair flows like silk, skin is warm and expressions languid. As for still lives, they come close to the appearance of a painting, attaining an incomparable atmosphere that is delicate and fresh. These filters give superb outdoor results, in cloudy weather, and indoors when light is coming sideways from a window.
OPTICAL EFFECTS
Several optical effect filters are available to stimulate your creativity.
