Nuances Extreme Filters
NUANCES Extreme filters offer the same optical performance as the classic NUANCES filters, and are also extremely sturdy. They can withstand multiple accidental drops on a hard floor. Cokin chose this technology to complete its NUANCES line of mineral glass neutral density filters, and address physical constraints related to landscape photography in complex environmental conditions.
SHOCK RESISTANCE
NUANCES Extreme filters are made of highly resistant tempered glass that can withstand accidental drops and offer the same exceptional optical quality as the classic NUANCES filters.
HIGH RESOLUTION GLASS
NUANCES Extreme filters are made of a glass with exceptional optical quality. Their 2mm thick, rounded edge design makes them easier to insert.
STACKABLE WITHOUT COLOR CAST
Thanks to exclusive manufacturing processes, you can stack several filters without causing any strong color cast. Color rendering is neutral and accurately recreates captured light.
In addition to the ND1024 filter, the NUANCES Extreme line features 3 graduated neutral density filters with variations in absorption from 2 to 4 stops, and various gradient transitions.
SOFT GRADUATED FILTER
The soft graduated filter features a soft transition effect between the darker and lighter zones from the filter top. It is the most widely used type of graduated filter.

HARD GRADUATED FILTER
The hard graduated filter features a very fast transition effect between the darker and lighter zones from the filter top. It is the most widely used type of graduated filter. The transition area is therefore very short and the density of the filter is constant over almost half of its surface.
REVERSE GRADUATED FILTER
The reverse graduated filter inverts the transition from the darker zone in the center to the lighter zone on the filter top. The reverse filter features a good level of exposure compensation and the effect is lighter than the soft graduated filter.
FULL GRADUATED FILTER
The Full graduated filter has a very long and uninterrupted transition between the densest ND8 area (3 f/stops) and the lightest ND2 area of the glass (1 f/stop). The entire surface of the filter is tinted, so its use is imperceptible with ultra-wide angle lenses in particular, despite the exposure compensation between the high and low part of the filter.
CENTER GRADUATED FILTER
The center graduated filter lets you compensate on a thin area of the image. It is used to adjust exposure on a more precise area.
