Center Spot filters enhance the subject by isolating it with a slightly fuzzy border. The central area of sharpness can be small and round, or larger and oval. They are mainly used in wedding photography or still life. The shorter the focal length, the more the fuzzy area is visible. The transition between net and fuzzy area depends on openness: the larger it is, the more diffuse the transition will be. For proper adjustment with auto-focus, the choice of a center AF point is required. It is also recommended to work with apertures around? /5.6 or? / 8 to maintain a sufficiently fuzzy transition. Center Spot Clear filters blur the central subject in a completely natural way, giving the subject a prominent place. Center Spot Gray or Colored filters work by blurring and darkening the periphery of the subject more sharply. The intensity and the quality of the lighting of the central subject are thus highlighted. Oval Center Spot filters are made for longer or larger topics.
